Best Free Wordpress Blog Themes List (FREE Means FREE!)

When I work with clients to install their Wordpress Blog the first step we go through is to setup their WP Theme. Many times this proves to be the most challenging and time consuming part because it really is like decorating a new home from start to finish.

WP Themes are like an expression of
your personality or corporate image.

So it does take time to find the perfect match. Some people are very creative and they can sketch out exactly what they want on a piece of paper. But I’m not that creative! I know what I like when I see it, but I am going to have to visit “furniture” show room after show room to find what I want.

If you’re the creative type then you can build a Wordpress Theme from scratch. A theme is going to control the skin/design of the blog, the layout (like left or right sidebar, 1-2-3-or-4 columns, menus, headers/footers, etc), and the functionality of how the data is displayed on the page.

But for most of us it is better to find one or two Wordpress themes we like and then customize the things we want to change. For this step you can search on the Wordpress Theme Database from your dashboard by going to Appearance/Themes/Add New/Search.

Or you can do a Google search for “Free Wordpress Themes” or “Premium Wordpress Themes”.

There are thousands of Free and Premium
Wordpress Themes on the Internet.

The hard part is finding the good wp themes among millions of search results! So to help cut through the clutter I am starting to compile a top 100 FREE WP Themes List. Many of them are going to come from websites that I’ve used for clients or recommended to clients. This particular WP Theme I’m using on this blog was a free theme that I customized. So great Wordpress Themes are out there, you just have to find them!
